There was a number of zombies terrorizing a small village. Unfortunately, each of these zombies managed to infect another person. Then the driven by hunger, all of the zombies attacked KIS in search of some food. Each zombie managed to infect three more people(mostly including the staff and teachers). As the situation became desperate, brave Mr. Jobe decided to hunt down the zombies to stop this madness and save the students. Screaming a blood chilling war cry, Mr. Jobe ran out of the shelter and slayed 15 zombies. If there were 39 more zombies surrounding Mr. Jobe, how many zombies were there in the beginning?

  3. I guess this word problem would not tell exactly what problem they are given.
You told us "three more" but 3 more would be x + 3 not only 3. Also, the word problem didn't say anything about 2n. Instead, you told us n than 2n
    I doesn't fit the equation.
It's a bit confusing, also, the word problem doesn't match the equation.
It would be better that you tell the zombies should move in pairs and they each should catch 3 people.
    There were no grammar mistakes.
The story is creative. It wasn't about Mr.Jobe or candy or stuffs.
Positive points were creative, but you should change your post again ^^

  4. It says that EACH zombie infected another person (2n), and then ALL of the zombies attacked KIS, and infected THREE more people 3(2n).

  5. When we read this word problem, some of the sentences didn't make sense but we think this tory fit with the equation, it is functional but we wouldn't write this as our equation. The reason is because some of the sentences were wrong because they had wrong equation. Yes, it is a little confusing and a little doesn't make sense. The equation wasn't clear and they could have fixed the equation. It is creative because Mr.Jobe was in the story and they used something unique. It would have been better if they cared more on their equation. The positive point about this word problem is that the story was creative and funny

Reflection- Liz Lee & Hojun Byun

    1. The story does make sense but its a little confusing in some parts. After reading it carefully, we think we would write the right equation.
    2. It makes sense but we think it’s a little confusing and hard to understand right away. But we still got it later. The part when 3(2n) was explained was the most confusing of all. By the way, you spelled Sean’s name wrong. :)
    3. We don’t think there are a lot of grammatical mistakes. Grammatically, it was easy to read. Plus, a lot of vocabulary words were used!
    4. Yes, we both think the story was creative because zombies and Mr. Jobe were included. Hojun thought it was unrealistic, though.
    5. The positive points of this word problem, is that it was creative, funny and that it included Mr. Jobe.
