QR Code Scavenger Hunt

Almost there!

Pre-Algebra is almost over! All that is left is a final exam! Answer the following questions:

1) Have you already started studying for the final exam? If so, what have you done? If not, what do you plan on doing to prepare yourself?

2) Has this year been challenging for you? Do you think you performed the best you could have? What could you have done differently?

3) The Algebra I course at KIS is challenging. Do you think you need to hone up on any skills over the summer, or do you feel confident about your mathematics ability? If so, what skills?

Market Day

1. Did you think that Market Day gave you the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge (do you think it was a good test grade)? Why or why not?

2. Name two things that could have made Market Day better.

3. By this point, you should understand a wide variety of percent applications. Name one new concept you learned.

4. After completing the Market Day project, you should have a good idea of the important decisions that help businesses make profit. What three decisions do you think were the most crucial to a successful business plan (making profit)? Explain each.

Scavenger Hunt & Final Exam

4) Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?

5) This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.

LCD Riddle

"We are two simplified fractions. Our LCD is 12. Our denominators are consecutive integers. The numerator and denominator of one of us has a difference of 3. The other fraction is greater than 50%. Who are we?"

Now it's your turn to make the riddle. Begin yours with "We are two simplified fractions. Our LCD is..." Then continue to give clues that will lead the reader to discover your two simplified fractions.

Be creative with your clues! Make sure that only two fractions are possible answers, and remember, no improper fractions for this activity. Good luck!
